When I traveled to Shanghai in 2009, I was impressed with the Metro. I was very impressed by how easy it was for a nonnative speaker to get around by the Shanghai metro. Now, it is twice as big! Here is the overview of shanghai subway map:

Line1

  3. Shanghai Railway Station (上海火车站): While the station itself is a major transport hubs, it’s also close to several shopping and dining areas.
  4. Hanzhong Road (汉中路): Close to the Shanghai Natural History Museum and the Jing’an Sculpture Park, this area blends cultural attractions with urban green spaces.
  5. Shanghai Indoor Stadium (上海体育馆): Near the Xujiahui area, this spot is not just for sports events but also concerts and other large-scale events. It’s also close to the Shanghai Stadium.
  6. South Shaanxi Road (陕西南路): This station provides access to the trendy Huaihai Road shopping district, famous for its luxury brands, boutique stores, and charming cafes.

  1. Shanghai South Railway Station (上海南站): A major railway station in Shanghai that connects the city to numerous destinations across China. The area around the station has various amenities for travelers.
  2. Shanghai Indoor Stadium (上海体育馆): This station serves the Shanghai Indoor Stadium and is also close to the Shanghai Stadium. It’s a hub for sports events, concerts, and other large gatherings.
  3. Zhongshan Park (中山公园): Accessible via the interchange with Line 2 and Line 4, Zhongshan Park is a large public park featuring beautiful landscapes, a lake, and recreational areas.
